Social Media Explained Event
Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, National Kitchen & Bath Association and the Galleria of Stone teamed up to teach and inform designers and contractors on how to efficiently incorporate social media into their everyday business practices. It was a two part event that covered the various social media platforms and how to effectively present their content/ media.
Day 1 May 29th 2015
Platforms 101
The event was held at the Galleria of Stone showroom and was kicked off by our very own Julie Banker who introduced and explained the event goals. The two day event was split into categories and each topic was presented by professionals in the design community around the Denver area. Big thanks to Jan Neiges the president of NKBA and Holly Scott, a publisher at Colorado Homes & Lifestyles for organizing the event information and presenters.
Sarah Frazier of Wiesner Media began the day by talking about Twitter and LinkedIn and Vanessa De La Rosa, a digital editor for Colorado Homes & Lifestyles magazine followed by presenting Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook. Topics covered included everything from setting up and linking accounts to gaining views and followers.
Day 2 June 5th 2015
Content Media
Day two happened to be on National Doughnut Day so we started the morning off properly with delicious breakfast pastries. Holly got the event started by introducing the guest speakers for the day which included Kristen Terjesen (owner) & Brooke Jean (manager) of Studio 10 Interiors as well as Fred Berns of Business by Design. Fred is the only award-winning coach, author and professional speaker who trains design professionals and design industry partners worldwide how to promote themselves more effectively and dramatically increase sales and profits.
The days focus was on content strategy and included topics like “Using Houzz to impact your business” and “Keys to a Killer Bio”. Michelle Johnson and Holly Scott finished up the day with a great talk about “The Importance of Photography, How to Get Published”. Overall the event was a big success and despite the various skill levels, everyone gained some valuable advice throughout the two-day event. We were lucky to have such knowledgeable and helpful presenters; the Galleria of Stone thanks everyone that played a part in this educational event.
